Quote comparison example — watch it, then download a real one

This is what Broker AI produces when you upload two or more insurer quotes for the same client. Watch the two-minute tour, then download a real quote comparison as a Word file — generated by Broker AI from real quotes, with the client, the broker and every reference number replaced, and the premiums adjusted so they are not anyone’s real figures.

What this example is

The download is a household comparison of four quotes for one client: their current Discovery Insure policy against new quotes from Bryte, MUA and Apex. It covers buildings, household contents, all risks, two vehicles, a trailer, a boat and personal liability — the kind of multi-section personal-lines file that takes an afternoon to compare by hand. Broker AI produced it from the insurers’ own quote and schedule documents. We then replaced the client, the broker, every policy and quote number, the address and the dates of birth, and scaled every premium and sum insured by the same factor, recalculating the totals so the document still adds up. Excesses, limits and policy conditions are the insurers’ standard terms and were left as quoted.

What is in the comparison

The document follows the same structure for every comparison, so a client — or a compliance reviewer — always knows where to look.

01

Client requirements overview

Who is insured, what they own, and the considerations that drive the advice — for example an alarm warranty that one insurer applies and another does not.

02

Key differences, rated

Every difference that changes the outcome of a claim, rated Critical, High or Medium, with the insurer-by-insurer detail written out in plain language.

03

Coverage gaps

Where a quote leaves the client exposed — a requirement the client does not currently meet, a section another insurer covers and this one does not.

04

Exclusions compared

The exclusions that differ between insurers side by side, rather than buried on page 40 of each wording.

05

Premium comparison

Every quote’s premium by section, Sasria, the total payable and the monthly saving against the current policy.

06

Section by section

Buildings, contents, all risks, motor, trailer, watercraft, liability and each extension, with the sum insured, excess and limit per insurer.

07

Recommendation

A recommended option with its rationale and the next steps — the part you review, change and own before it goes to the client.

How to read it

Start with the key differences, not the premium table. A cheaper quote is only cheaper if it covers the same risks on the same terms, and the differences table is where that is decided: an alarm warranty the client does not meet, a mandatory tracking device on one vehicle, a lower liability limit, a higher motor excess. Once you know which differences matter for this client, the premium comparison tells you what each option actually costs. The section-by-section tables are the evidence — every figure in the summary can be traced back to a line there, and from there to the insurer’s own document.

How it is made

  1. 01Upload the insurer quotes and the current schedule for one client — PDF or Word, from any South African insurer.
  2. 02Broker AI reads each document and lines up the premiums, sums insured, excesses, limits, extensions and exclusions section by section.
  3. 03It flags the differences that change a claim outcome and the gaps where the client would be exposed, and drafts a recommendation.
  4. 04You check everything on screen, edit anything, and download the Word document to send to the client.

What Broker AI does and does not do

Broker AI drafts the comparison; you give the advice. It reads the documents you upload and does not invent cover that is not in them — where a quote leaves something blank or two parts of the same quote disagree, the comparison says so rather than guessing. The recommendation is a draft for you to review, change and sign off: Broker AI is not a licensed financial services provider, and the adviser remains responsible for the advice under FAIS. Client documents are processed in line with POPIA.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a real Broker AI output?
Yes. It was generated by Broker AI from real insurer quotes. The client, the broker and all reference numbers were replaced, and the premiums adjusted, so nothing in it identifies a real person or policy.
Can I edit the comparison before sending it?
Yes. Every comparison is reviewed on screen first, and the download is an ordinary Word document you can change.
How long does a comparison like this take?
A few minutes for Broker AI to read the documents and draft it, then however long you spend reviewing it. Comparing four multi-section household quotes by hand typically takes hours.
Does it work for life quotes?
Yes. Life cover has its own Life Quote Comparison tool; this example is a short-term household one.

The example is an illustration of Broker AI’s output, not advice. Client, broker and reference details are invented and the premiums and sums insured adjusted; insurer terms are as quoted at the time.
