Broker AI vs BrokerPilot

Both are South African AI platforms for insurance brokers, and as of 8 September 2026 both describe a similar core: reading policy schedules, comparing cover, and producing FAIS advice documents. This page does not try to tell you whose software is better — we build one of them, so our opinion on that is worth nothing to you. What we can do honestly is compare what each company has actually PUBLISHED, because that is checkable: you can open both sites and count. Everything below about BrokerPilot comes from brokerpilot.co.za on 8 September 2026 and is linked so you can verify it. Then there is a list of the questions worth putting to both of us, which is the part that will actually decide it.

The short answer

BrokerPilot lists two URLs in its sitemap: a homepage and a demo-request form, the homepage carrying roughly 760 indexable words. Broker AI publishes eleven FAIS guides alongside its tool pages, each guide sourced to the Act, the General Code or an Ombud determination. If you want to read a vendor’s published position on the compliance you are buying help with before you talk to them, there is more to read here — but published volume is not competence, it is only what you can check without booking a demo. On the software itself neither site settles anything: book both demos and use the question list further down.

What each site publishes — counted, not asserted

A sitemap is a site’s own declaration of what it wants indexed, so it is the fairest available measure and you can open both in a browser. Counted on 8 September 2026:

  1. 01BrokerPilot: 2 URLs in its sitemap — the homepage and /request-demo. No blog, resources, pricing or about page is published: each of those paths returns 404, and the footer’s About, Careers, Contact and Security links are placeholders. Roughly 760 indexable words on the homepage.
  2. 02Broker AI: 28 URLs, of which 21 are content pages — seven tool and pillar pages, eleven FAIS guides, this comparison, and the about and editorial-standard pages — with the terms, privacy, security, regulatory and PAIA pages published rather than sent on request.
  3. 03Neither company publishes pricing. We should; that is a gap on our side and it is on the roadmap, not a point in our favour.

How the two describe themselves

In each company’s own words, from the meta description each publishes for its homepage on 8 September 2026 — quoted rather than characterised, so you can judge the positioning yourself:

them

BrokerPilot

“BrokerPilot reads insurance schedules and quotes end to end — extraction, side-by-side comparison and FAIS renewal disclosures, built for South African brokers.” Their homepage adds rapid quoting from your own rates, renewal and quote comparison, and forms and Records of Advice.

us

Broker AI

“Broker AI turns complex policy wordings into client-ready, FAIS-aligned Records of Advice, risk analyses and letters in minutes. POPIA-aware. Purpose-built for South African insurance brokers.”

so

The honest reading

These overlap substantially. A broker evaluating both should expect similar claims and should test them the same way — on their own documents, not on either website.

What this page will not tell you

Three things we have deliberately left out, because we cannot know them and you should distrust any vendor who claims otherwise about a competitor:

  1. 01Whether their extraction is accurate. We have not run their product on a schedule. Nobody who has not should be telling you.
  2. 02What their pricing is, or how it compares. It is not published, and we are not going to guess at it.
  3. 03Anything about their scale, funding, team or results. Their site carries figures on those; they are theirs to stand behind and not ours to repeat or dispute.

The questions that actually decide it

Ask both vendors the same list, in a demo, using YOUR documents rather than theirs. These are the questions a FAIS file is judged on, so they are the ones worth an hour:

  1. 01Run one of my worst schedules — a scanned, non-searchable PDF in Afrikaans if you have one. What comes out, and what does it do when it cannot read a page?
  2. 02Show me the Record of Advice it produces, in full. Does it cover every element of section 9(1) of the General Code, including why the product suits this client’s needs and objectives?
  3. 03On a replacement, does it produce the comparison section 8(1)(d) requires — the actual and potential financial implications, costs and consequences of replacing?
  4. 04Where does my client data go? Which country, which sub-processors, and is that list published or provided on request?
  5. 05What happens when the AI is unsure? Does the document say so, or does it fill the gap with something plausible?
  6. 06Can I edit the output before it reaches the client, and is the edit kept in the record?
  7. 07What does it cost, per document or per seat, and what happens in a month where I generate none?

If you are looking for a BrokerPilot alternative

That is a legitimate search and this is a fair place to answer it, so: Broker AI is one. What we would say for ourselves, and what you can verify without talking to us:

  1. 01The FAIS grounding is published, not asserted — eleven guides citing the Act, the General Code as amended to BN 706 of 2020, and FAIS Ombud determinations, with the primary sources linked. If we have the compliance wrong, you can catch us at it before you buy.
  2. 02The security posture, the POPIA position, the regulatory position and the full sub-processor list are published pages, not a PDF on request.
  3. 03You can start a free trial and put your own documents through it without a sales call.
  4. 04And the same question list above applies to us. Run it.

Test it on your own schedule

Start a free trial, upload a real policy schedule, and read the Record of Advice it produces against section 9 of the General Code. That is a better basis for a decision than any comparison page, including this one.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Broker AI and BrokerPilot?
As of 8 September 2026 both describe a similar core — reading schedules, comparing cover, producing FAIS advice documents. The difference this page can evidence is what each publishes: BrokerPilot’s sitemap lists 2 URLs and its homepage about 760 words; Broker AI publishes 28, including eleven sourced FAIS guides. On the software itself, run both on your own documents.
Is there a BrokerPilot alternative in South Africa?
Broker AI is one, and we build it, so weigh that accordingly. What you can check without trusting us: our FAIS guides cite the Act, the General Code and Ombud determinations with the sources linked; our security, POPIA and sub-processor pages are published; and a free trial needs no sales call.
How much does BrokerPilot cost?
They do not publish pricing — /pricing returns 404 on their site as of 8 September 2026 — so we are not going to guess at it. Ask them. We do not publish ours either, which is a gap on our side.
Does BrokerPilot do Records of Advice?
Their homepage says it produces forms and Records of Advice. We have not run their product, so we can tell you what they publish and nothing more. Ask them to show you a full one against section 9(1) of the General Code — and ask us the same.
Which one is more accurate?
We cannot answer that honestly and neither can they. Accuracy on South African policy schedules is testable in an afternoon: take a difficult document, run it through both, and read the output against the wording. Trust that over either vendor’s website.

Broker AI publishes this page and competes with BrokerPilot, so read it with that in mind. Every statement about BrokerPilot is taken from their own public website on 8 September 2026 and linked above so you can check it; websites change, and theirs may have since. We make no claim about the accuracy, performance or suitability of their product, and nothing here is legal or compliance advice.
